Sidebar and navigation

The sidebar is the primary way to move between Web Interface areas. It groups routes under category headings, highlights the active page, and provides Search at the top when expanded.

AreaDescription
SearchFilter box (placeholder Search...) — visible when the sidebar is expanded
Category groupsUppercase headings such as Alerts, Management, Tools, Access Control, Metrics & KPIs — click the heading to collapse or expand the group
Menu itemsIcon + label per route; some parents expand to show child routes
AboutFooter link — always available at the bottom

Routes you are allowed to use come from your role; items you cannot access do not appear.

Collapse and expand

ControlAction
Arrow button (mid-right edge of sidebar)Toggle between full width (~255px) and icon-only mode
Logo (top bar)Same toggle — updates collapse state for the next visit

On narrow viewports the sidebar may collapse automatically to preserve space.

Expanded sidebar on the dashboard — red boxes mark Search, a category heading, the active item, the collapse control, and About

Collapsed sidebar (icon-only rail) — red boxes mark the expand control, menu icons, and About

Active state and nested routes

  • The current route is highlighted in the menu.
  • Parent items with children (for example Notifications) stay highlighted when you are on a child path.
  • Child entries appear when the parent row is expanded (chevron up / down).

Badges and license hints

Some entries show small badges:

BadgeMeaning
NEWRecently added capability
WIPWork in progress (may appear only in QA environments)
DEVDevelopment-only entry
UPDRecently updated

A crown icon means the feature is not enabled on your license plan. A gauge icon means the feature is enabled but has numeric limits.

Open a view from the sidebar

  1. Ensure the sidebar is expanded if you need labels or Search.
  2. Click a category heading if its items are hidden.
  3. Click the target item (for example Policies under Management).
  4. The main content area loads the route; the item stays active.

Best practices

  1. Collapse categories you rarely use to shorten the menu.
  2. After license changes, refresh the app if expected items are still missing.
  3. Use About from the footer for version checks — not the sidebar groups.
  4. Prefer Search (see Top bar and search) over scrolling long Management lists.
  5. After you open a list page, use table toolbar search (plain or TQL) — not sidebar Search... — to filter rows. See TQL search and filters.
